Here we go again!!
The first South East Region's Intercounties was a great success despite the inclement weather on Saturday, which was made up for with brilliant weather on Sunday.
An excellent turnout of teams from all nine counties, Oxfordshire hoping to make it three on the trot had to make do with second to Sussex who won with a margin of nine targets.
Julian Freeman, one of the last shooters out on the course, came in with the High Gun score of 94 making him the Intercounties Champion for 2008.
Natasha Vadasz from Surrey won the Ladies with 80, Oliver Betchley from Surrey won the Colts with 84, Dave Powell from Sussex won the Veterans with 89 and unfortunately there was a tie in the juniors between Lewis Steed from Essex and Matt Smith from Berkshire both on 85 and neither were present for a shoot off.
I would like to thank the Peckham family on behalf of the South East Region for another excellent championship and, as usual, for making Steve Mansfield and myself welcome and for feeding and watering us all weekend.

Date: 1st June 2008
Fortunately a dry day for this championship held for the second year at Dartford.
Again a full complement of nine teams from the region and a good atmosphere made it a very nice day. Oxfordshire were the winning team by just one clay from Kent in second place and three clays from Surrey in third place.
The champion after a shoot off with Vic Bradley (David Dale was unable to stay for the shoot off) was Johnny Walker, Sarah Quinn won the ladies, Jason Adams after a shoot off with Lewis Steed won the juniors, Jack Greenleaf won the colts and Tony Nicholls after a shoot off with Bob English won the veterans. A good time was had by all and my thanks go to Gordon Lee and the team at Dartford for an excellent day.

Glorious sunshine and another brilliant championship for the South East Region.
Seven out of the nine teams made the day a long one but the atmosphere was extremely good and the contest was a hard fought one.
After a tie in the team event, Glen Presley (Buckinghamshire) and Tim Woodhams (Sussex) had a long shoot off, with Tim taking the honours.
The Champion, with the only straight of the day, was Tim Heywood (Surrey).
The Ladies Champion, with an outstanding score of 18, was Dorothy Fleri from God's Own County.
The Junior Champion was Sam Coffey (Surrey)
The Colt Champion, after a shoot off between Mark Boyle and Oliver Meekins, was Oliver.
The Veteran Champion, after a shoot off between Ron Smith and Michael Vere-Hodge, was Ron.
I think everyone has a good time, I certainly did and my thanks go to Invicta for putting on this championship.

A brilliant day, sunny (despite force ten gale) and warm, with six out of the nine counties fielding a team.
Once again Sussex took the honours with Surrey in second place and Greater London in third.
Cemal Seziner (God's Own County) shot an amazing 99/100 to take the Championship title.
The Lady Champion was Audrey Rex (Sussex) with 87, the Junior Champion was Simon Clarke (Berkshire) with 87, the Colt Champion was Michael Kirk (Hertfordshire) with 81 and the Veteran Champion was Michael Vere-Hodge (Berkshire) with 92.
I think everyone enjoyed themselves and, for me, it is days like this that make it all worthwhile.
