Venue:   Southdown Sporting Gun Club

Date:                      16th/17th June 2007

Another excellent shoot over the two days at Southdown. Weather not too sharp on the Saturday but Sunday was much better.

The Champion (who shot on Saturday in the bad weather) was George Digweed with a might score of 94/100.

Tracey Dines won the Ladies with 80. Chris Papworth won the Juniors with 89, Oliver Betchley won the Colts with 73

and Dave Powell won the veterans with 92.

In the team event, Oxfordshire retained their title for another year (despite hating the trophy and threatening to put it up on E-Bay!!!),

with Sussex in second place, Kent in third and Berkshire in fourth.

A pleasure to see an extremely young lad, Nathan Hales from Kent, shoot nearly 50% of the targets in his first registered shoot,

winning his first, but not his last, county team badge.

God's own county had a no show from a team member, which was not discovered until the end so they only had a team of 4,

which was a pity because the others shot well.

As usual, the targets were extremely testing, but I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

On behalf of the shooters and the South East Region I would like to thank Dave and Carol Peckham and the rest of

their team for a most enjoyable weekend of shooting

Sandie Buckler

South East Regional Secretary
