South East Region of the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association

Discipline:            Universal Trench

Venue:   Nuthampstead Shooting Ground

Date:                      19th August 2007

A grey and wet old day for this, my favourite Intercounties Championship.

A full contingent of nine teams braved the weather and there was a great atmosphere all day.

Nigel Caves was the champion (once again) with an excellent score of 97.

Mary Rowley (after a shoot of with Rachel Parish) the ladies champion with a score of 90.

Ross Pestell the junior champion with 92.

Daniel Wicker the colt champion with 82 (unfortunately for Simon Clarke who shot 83 it was his birthday and he had to move up to juniors)

Phil Rowley won the veterans with 94.

The team event was won by Hertfordshire, who were highly delighted as it was the lovely Ken Jones last appearance for Hertfordshire as he is moving to Lincolnshire, so a great send off for him, God's Own County were second (again!!) with Sussex (who had all been to Steve Winsor's wedding the day before and were like the night of the living dead) in third place.

The event ran like clockwork and my thanks go to Martin and Nicky for an excellent day. (Great cake thank you Nicky!!)

I must at this point offer my congratulations to Rachel Parish on her recent success in the Double Trap in Bangkok.
